Financial Controller

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Fulltime (40 hours per week) - Amsterdam

As our Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial accuracy, efficiency, and insight. This position will report directly to the CFO. Working closely with our finance team and other departments, you’ll be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis to support data-driven decision-making, financial health and growth of the company.

Main responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting and financial activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Prepare and manage financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Collaborate on annual budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis to support strategic goals.
  • Conduct variance analysis to monitor and improve financial performance.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance financial efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processes.
  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors and accountant to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the management team to support business strategy through financial insights.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial control, accounting, or similar roles, preferably in fashion or retail.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, GAAP.
  • Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems (Exact).
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments.
